Baby Turtles Have New Home
Remember the turtle who laid her eggs in the Conservatory at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher in April? The eggs were dug up and incubated. Seven baby yellow belly sliders hatched in late July. Aquarists Ginger Black and Keith Farmer released five of the baby turtles back into Carolina Bay in the Conservatory. They took off for the water immediately and one got spooked by a fish and dove into the mud to hide.
